It's that time of the year again -- CMT Music Awards time. Join us for the live blog during the red carpet show and the 2009 CMT Music Awards show on June 16.  Be sure to follow us on Twitter so you can see what's happening backstage, in the pressroom and on the red carpet.

Well, friends, it's happening again.  Just like General MacArthur, the Terminator and stasis dermatitis, we're back!  That's right, on Sunday, (April 5), your Bloated Baron of Blogging Shane Caldwell returns along with Jennifer "Fingers" Morrison to lay the truth down (along with a few exaggerations and several out-and-out lies) on the 2009 ACM Awards with a live blog right here on CMT.com! We'll be watching the show right along with you and posting our thoughts, feelings, emotions, opinions, picks, pans, praises and put-downs and more than a few out-of-control rants.  And you can join in the fun as well as logging on and blogging on.  Tell us what you think, how you feel, what you like, what you don't like but whatever you do, don't hold back!  You're what makes this blog come to life.  So grab the chips and dip, curl up on the couch in your snuggie (you know you have one) and join us for our 2009 ACM Live blog on CMT.com.  Son of a gun, we're gonna have fun! ...  or at least kill a few hours keeping count of Reba's costume changes.

America awaits with breathless anticipation one of the most meaningful events in its young history, the results of which will affect not only this generation but all generations to come.

It is a happening that is beyond important, beyond monumental. It is quite simply the single most significant moment that we as a people shall ever experience …and now that that damn election is out of the way, we can finally get to it! I’m talking about the CMT.com Watching Party and Live Blog for the 2008 CMA Awards! That’s right friends! No more partisanship. It’s just a big ol’ party and you’re invited! So come down and join us right here in Music City at the famed Paradise Park Trailer Resort in downtown Nashville as yours truly, the Bloated Baron of Blogging, Shane Caldwell, along with my faithful companions Jennifer Morrison and Brian Bayley, bring you all the dish, all the dirt and all the doin’s from this year’s CMA Awards. We’ll begin documenting this star-studded extravaganza at 7/6c with CMT’s Red Carpet Show and then it’s on to the Big Show at 8/7c. And just to make it more fun (and to take the pressure off of us), we’re inviting YOU, the fans to guest blog! That’s right! You say and we relay it. Your most personal inner thoughts posted for all the world to behold! You can brag about your favorite artist’s big win or rant about how they were robbed of their rightful place in history. You can also make predictions, prognostications or just make fun of what somebody is wearing.

And isn’t mocking the rich and successful the real fun of these awards shows, anyway? Just remember you have to be 21 and Over and reasonably sober. (Jen will be giving field sobriety tests at the door so practice saying your ABCs backwards while hopping on one leg.) Plus, there’s a rumor that some country stars may be joining us with their backstage comments as well. Yes, it’s a publicist’s nightmare and we’ll be the ones dreaming it. It's that time again, my friends!  The time of year when folks from all over the world travel thousands of miles to gather with their families to celebrate the season!  No, I'm not talking about Thanksgiving.  And it ain't Christmas or New Year's either! This Sunday night, May 18th, the CMT Blog Squad will once again be bringing you a big barrel of catty comments and ripping reports from the 43rd Annual ACM Awards in beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada!... Okay, to be honest, we won't actually be in Las Vegas, we'll be in Nash Vegas watching from the exotic Employee Lounge on the 4th Floor of the CMT Building in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee! You see, anybody can go to an event, hang out backstage and give you the same old boring reports on who's got the biggest entourage, who's being a screaming diva and who's more pilled-up than Paula Abdul on a pogo stick. That's easy. That's why this time, we've decided to do something special. Just like you at home, we'll be watching the show as it happens and sharing our smart-assed remarks with you on a live blog. Plus, you'll be able to post your own comments about the show. It'll be like we're right there in your living room, yelling at the TV right along with you. AND as an added bonus, some of your favorite artists will be guest blogging with us, but you'll have to stop by to find out! In a small farm town in North Carolina, Shane Tarleton operated his own one-man Top 40 countdown radio show from the enterprising age of 8.  With weekly call-ins from such icons as Dolly Parton, Don Williams, Reba McEntire and Tammy Wynette with an occasional Madonna or Michael Jackson thrown in there, Shane built an empire in his bedroom.  All of this, of course, was done simply by displaying his favorite LP's around the room and talking into a disconnected phone receiver while listening to the weekly Billboard Top 40 Countdown.  What started as an overzealous imagination has turned into a parallel reality.  Having spent the past 15 years in Music City, Shane has honed and developed images through music videos and still shoots for such artists as Sara Evans, Kenny Chesney, Clay Walker, and Brad Paisley while serving his 6 year tenure in the creative department at RCA Label Group.  Today, Shane serves as Fashion & Beauty Editor at Country Weekly Magazine.

Shane will be blogging with us from inside the press room at the 43 Annual ACM Awards in Las Vegas.

When you come to this page on Monday (April 14), you’ll find coverage of the CMT Music Awards like no one's ever seen.

Comedian Shane Caldwell will bring the wit he's shown in his stand-up routines and on scores of television comedy shows to CMT's biggest night on CMT.com's first live blog.
